is there an advantage to using the tall separator on a D4C model?

This was an upgrade done over D2 models due to the performance.

Where can i find the Model # for my Canister Rainbow Vacuum

It will be on a metal sticker at the bottom of the vacuum. You may have to remove the water pan to find it.
