I replaced the Bissell replacement belt and it keeps burning up. What could be causing the problem?
A:
It could be one of a 3 things. 1. Excess dirt, hair, or thread gets between the roller brush and the housing that covers the belt. 2. You have picked up an over sized object that has jammed under the roller brush. or 3. You have ran over the power cord and it has gotten wrapped around the roller brush.
Remember, the belt drives the roller brush and it doesn't take much to burn one up if the roller stops spinning.

How long is the vacuum belt?
A:
These belts are about 7" when folded flat. Now please also note that the newer belts are always shorter than the old belts which you are replacing. The old belts stretch out due to heat and friction. If you are not sure about the belt, let me know about the model number of the machine and I will make sure which one will fit
