My respect for these old Pansonic / Kenmore Power heads sunk even lower when I beheld this ridiculous piece of plastic junk used to lock the suction wand into the upright position. Then again, lets take a look at the electric hose of some vintage Panasonics... made from a material that likes to disintegrate and perish away, rotting to shreds. What incompetent cretins could design such junk and choose such materials leaves one aghast. Must be spoiled by old Miele S514 canister!Price Value Quality
Anyway, this part works, does the job etc., though be advised that in order to remove the old broken Release Lever one may have to employ... a flat blade screwdriver driven by the palm of your hand (repeatedly) to dislodge it from the metal bar / rod.
Oh yes... I found this Kenmore Whispertone is the trash... had to get it all fixed up and needed one of these Release Lever parts and a new belt too... may as well get it working. Vacuumland forums are having an effect on me after all... rescuing old Top Of The Line Vacs from their moronic lazy former owners seems to have become a new hobby of mine...! *gulp* what next? -

Purchased from EZ Vacuum. I had a tough time putting this part on the Power Nozzle until I read somewhere after getting it lined up in slots to press the tabs in using a flat head screwdriver or similar. Once I did that it was a snap, but nowhere on the internet can you find how to do this and Kenmore was no help. I was really glad to find this part at EZ Vacuum where I also get my replacement HEPA bags and HEPA exhaust filters. Thank you for good service.Quality Price Value -
