I received MY mother-in-law's Sanyo SC 540 also. Did or does your filter have a spinner-type thing of the back of the filter to clean it out? Mine broke off and I just have to bang it on the garbage can to clean it!

Did you get the one they said? Does it work. Mine is banged up but is a workhorse! LOL... Thanks
