I recently purchased a used Electrolux tank vacuum from someone who was moving and cleaning out their home. Got it for $25 because it had a broken switch. I bought this and the Electrolux Switch Button Rocker Arm - Short Type for it. The rocker arm on the switch was actually only broken but I I figured since I was going to have it apart I might as well replace both parts to avoid having to do it again. I took the vacuum cleaner apart following instructions I found in a youtube video. The repair took about 20 minutes and only needed a phillips, flat screwdriver and a rubber mallet to reassemble the sliding pieces that hold the top and bottom of the vacuum cleaner together. When assembling just make sure to not pinch any wires in the vacuum between both parts of the tank unit. I figured that I saved a bundle of money on labor having a vac shop do the repair and I didn't have to take it anywhere, then wait a week or more and then go out to have to pick it up. Easy repair with a little mechanical knowledge. Also be sure to make sure vacuum is unplugged when making the repair.
