How do you remove the tape wiring from the terminal cover?

The tape will need to be pulled out of the white end. BE VERY CAREFUL as you are pulling the raw end of the tape out of the plastic white piece. (There is no clip or plastic attached to the tape).

It will be a pretty tight fit as it is not something that you want to loosen up as you are vacuuming.

I grasped the tape end as close as possible to the white plastic piece and pulled straight back and level so as not to damage the tape. It was not easy for me but be patient because if you damage the white tape you will be out of luck. (I don't have the best hand strength so difficulty may vary).

Also, if you haven't already done so, I would recommend replacing the wire harness/female plug at the hose end that this plugs into as well. If the terminal is fried, most likely it has damaged the female end as well. No sense in ruining your new part and having to do this all over again in short time.
