Kirby Signature Series C530 Turbo Canister Vacuum with Turbo Nozzle, Carbon Black

The Kirby C530 Turbo is the Signature Series canister for homes that are mostly hard floors, with area rugs and a few small carpeted rooms. Kirby suggests it for condos and mid-size homes. It has the same 1200-watt suction motor, 4-speed AirFlow dial and PureAir dual-HEPA filtration as the C550 Power, paired with an air-driven Turbo Nozzle instead of a motorized power nozzle.

The brush in the 11-inch Turbo Nozzle is spun by the vacuum's own airflow, so the nozzle has no motor of its own. If it feels hard to push on thicker carpet, slide up the air release valve on the nozzle or turn the AirFlow dial down a step. For wood, tile and vinyl, switch to the hard floor nozzle that comes in the box.

The C530 is the quietest of the three Signature Series models at 58.2 dBA, and Kirby rates it Excellent on hard floors and stairs. The main unit weighs 13.6 pounds, and the 24-foot cord rewinds automatically and gives you a 37-foot cleaning radius. Like the C550, it has a 7-foot hose, an adjustable stainless steel wand and a 1.1-gallon (4.1 L) bag, with a light on the control panel that tells you when the bag is full.

Filtration works the same way as on the C550: a HEPA filter bag, a washable pre-motor filter and a HEPA system filter, with the full system independently certified to ASTM F3150, according to Kirby. The duster brush and upholstery tool store inside the canister and the crevice tool clips onto the wand. On this model the Turbo Air Brush is an optional accessory, not part of the box.

If your home is mostly wall-to-wall carpet, or you have pets that shed into it, look at the C550 Power or the V530. Kirby rates both higher than the C530 for deep carpet cleaning and pet hair, and the table below shows the other differences.

Bags and filters

This vacuum uses Kirby Signature Series Canister PureAir supplies, the same ones as the other Signature Series canister. The V530 upright takes different bags and filters.

Kirby includes a new pre-motor filter with replacement bags, and recommends changing the system filter once a year or when the filter light comes on.

14-day return policy

You can return this vacuum within 14 days of delivery. Vacuum cleaners fall under the equipment terms of our Refund Policy, so the longer return window for bags, belts and filters doesn't apply to it.

Warranty: handled by Kirby

All warranty claims for this vacuum are handled directly by the manufacturer, The Kirby Company. EZvacuum does not handle warranty repairs or replacements, so please contact Kirby for anything covered by the warranty.

Kirby describes its Signature Series limited warranty this way:

• Unit motor: for 8 years from the date of purchase, a Kirby Authorized Service Center will repair or replace a defective motor at no cost, labor included.
• Other parts: for 5 years from the date of purchase, the same applies to defective parts, excluding expendable components. Kirby lists HEPA filters, disposable bags, attachments and brush rolls as expendable.
