Kirby Signature Series V530 Upright Vacuum with Multi-Surface Power Nozzle, Carbon Black

The Kirby V530 is the upright in Kirby's new Signature Series. Kirby made it for homes that are mostly carpet with some hard floors, in mid-size to large houses. It uses the same 13.5-inch Multi-Surface Power Nozzle and 1200-watt suction motor as the C550 Power canister, in a traditional upright, and at 12.1 pounds it's the lightest of the three.

A 3-way switch on the handle runs the whole machine: off, on for hard floors and hose cleaning, and on with the brush roll spinning for carpet and rugs. The power nozzle has a 250-watt brush motor, six height settings, an anti-skid bumper and LumiGuide LED lights. Kirby calls its cleaning efficiency category-leading, based on ASTM F608 carpet testing with the nozzle at its lowest height and the AirFlow dial on 4, and rates it Excellent for deep carpet and pet hair.

For stairs, sofas and baseboards, pull the onboard stretch hose out of its magnetic dock on the back of the vacuum. The brush roll stops by itself when you take the hose out, and the hose port turns for extra reach. Kirby lists the hose at 8 feet.

The V530 has the longest reach of the three: a 32-foot cord and a 40-foot cleaning radius, with quick-release cord hooks for winding the cord back up. The 4-speed AirFlow dial lets you lower suction for curtains and delicate rugs.

Filtration is PureAir dual-HEPA, with a HEPA filter bag, a washable pre-motor filter and a HEPA system filter, and Kirby says the full system is independently certified to ASTM F3150. The bag holds 0.95 gallons (3.6 L), and lights on the control panel tell you when it's full or when the filter needs changing. The upholstery tool, duster brush and crevice tool come with an accessory bag. The Turbo Air Brush is an optional accessory on this model.

Bags and filters

This vacuum uses Kirby Signature Series Upright PureAir supplies. The C550 and C530 canisters take different bags and filters.

14-day return policy

You can return this vacuum within 14 days of delivery. Vacuum cleaners fall under the equipment terms of our Refund Policy, so the longer return window for bags, belts and filters doesn't apply to it.

• Return shipping is your responsibility. A restocking fee applies to vacuum returns, and shipping charges may be deducted, as set out in our Refund Policy.

Warranty: handled by Kirby

All warranty claims for this vacuum are handled directly by the manufacturer, The Kirby Company. EZvacuum does not handle warranty repairs or replacements, so please contact Kirby for anything covered by the warranty.

Kirby describes its Signature Series limited warranty this way:

• Unit motor: for 8 years from the date of purchase, a Kirby Authorized Service Center will repair or replace a defective motor at no cost, labor included.
• Other parts: for 5 years from the date of purchase, the same applies to defective parts, excluding expendable components. Kirby lists HEPA filters, disposable bags, attachments and brush rolls as expendable.
