The new Kirby Signature Series: C550 Power canister, V530 upright and C530 Turbo canister vacuums side by side

New Kirby Signature Series Vacuums: C550, V530 and C530 Compared

Kirby launched its Signature Series in September 2026. It's a line of three corded, bagged vacuums sold through retailers and online stores, while Kirby's in-home distributors keep selling the Avalir. The C550 Power and the C530 Turbo are canisters, and the V530 is an upright. EZvacuum carries all three.

The short version, if you're choosing between them: the V530 suits carpet-heavy homes, the C550 handles a mix of carpet and hard floors over several levels, and the C530 fits hard floors and rugs in a smaller home. The details are below. Specs and ratings come from Kirby's product pages and owner's manuals.

What the three have in common

Inside, they're close relatives. Each has a 1200-watt suction motor rated at 131 CFM of airflow, plus a 4-speed AirFlow dial: turn it down for curtains, delicate rugs and electronics, and up for deep carpet cleaning. Kirby calls the line's cleaning efficiency category-leading, based on ASTM F608 carpet testing.

Filtration is Kirby's PureAir dual-HEPA system, made up of a HEPA filter bag, a washable pre-motor foam filter and a HEPA system filter. Kirby says the full system is independently certified to the ASTM F3150 HEPA standard. Lights on the control panel tell you when the bag is full and when the system filter is due.

Every model comes with an upholstery tool, a duster brush, a crevice tool and an accessory bag, plus one filter bag installed and three spares. Each one also carries Kirby's 8-year limited warranty, which Kirby handles directly (details further down).

Kirby C550 Power canister: the best-equipped model

The C550 is the top of the range and comes with more tools than the other two. Its 13.5-inch Multi-Surface Power Nozzle has its own 250-watt brush motor, six height settings and LumiGuide LED lights across the front. You switch the brush roll on and off at the handle, so moving from carpet onto wood or tile means turning the brush off and dropping the nozzle to setting 1. If you'd rather swap heads, there's a hard floor nozzle in the box.

It's the only Signature Series model that ships with a Turbo Air Brush, the tool you want for pet hair on furniture and carpeted stairs. The 24-foot cord rewinds automatically and gives a 37-foot cleaning radius. The 7-foot hose connects to an adjustable stainless steel wand, and the duster brush and upholstery tool store inside the canister. The main unit weighs 14.5 pounds, Kirby rates it at 60 dBA, and the color is Pure Platinum.

Kirby recommends the C550 for larger homes with both carpet and hard floors, particularly ones with more than one level. In Kirby's own ratings it scores Excellent on deep carpet, hard floors, pet hair and stairs. It's the only model of the three to get Excellent in all four.

Kirby V530 upright: the longest reach

If you'd rather push a vacuum than tow a canister, the V530 is the one to look at. It uses the same 13.5-inch Multi-Surface Power Nozzle as the C550, with the 250-watt brush motor, six heights and LED lights. A 3-way switch on the handle gives you off, on, and on with the brush roll. When you pull the onboard hose off its magnetic dock, the brush roll stops, so it isn't spinning on the carpet while you clean a shelf.

It reaches further than either canister: a 32-foot cord with quick-release cord hooks, a 40-foot cleaning radius, and a stretch hose that Kirby lists at 8 feet. The main unit is the lightest of the three at 12.1 pounds. It's also the loudest, at 66 dBA, and the bag is a little smaller (0.95 gallons, against 1.1 for the canisters). The color is Carbon Black.

Kirby suggests the V530 for mid-size to large homes that are mostly carpet with some hard floors. Its ratings are Excellent on deep carpet and pet hair, Very good on hard floors, and Good on stairs, where both canisters get Excellent. The box has no hard floor nozzle and no Turbo Air Brush. Kirby lists the Turbo Air Brush as an optional accessory for the V530 and the C530.

Kirby C530 Turbo canister: the quiet one

The C530 is the simpler canister. Its 11-inch Turbo Nozzle has no brush motor; airflow from the suction motor spins the brush. It's also the quietest of the three, at 58.2 dBA. What you give up is height adjustment (the nozzle has one fixed height), the LED lights and the handle switch. You control the brush with an air release valve on the nozzle instead.

Otherwise it matches the C550: the same suction motor and AirFlow dial, the same 24-foot auto-rewind cord and 37-foot cleaning radius, the same 7-foot hose and stainless steel wand, and the same 1.1-gallon bag. A hard floor nozzle comes in the box. Kirby's manual lists the main unit at 13.6 pounds, and the color is Carbon Black.

Kirby recommends the C530 for mid-size homes and condos with mostly hard floors, area rugs and a few small carpeted rooms. It rates the C530 Excellent on hard floors and stairs, Very good on pet hair and Good on deep carpet. Of the three, it's the lowest priced.

The standard set on all three is an upholstery tool, a duster brush, a crevice tool, an accessory bag, and a filter bag installed plus three spares.

Which one fits your home

  • Mostly carpet, a mid-size or larger home, and you prefer an upright: the V530.
  • Carpet and hard floors spread over two or more levels, lots of stairs, or pets on the furniture: the C550 Power.
  • Mostly hard floors and rugs, a smaller home or condo, or you want the quietest machine: the C530 Turbo.

If you're torn between the two canisters, think about how much carpet you have. Kirby rates the C550's motorized nozzle Excellent on deep carpet and the C530's air-driven nozzle Good. In a home that's mostly wood, tile and rugs, that gap matters less.

Bags and filters for the Signature Series

The C550 and C530 share the same supplies, and the V530 upright takes its own. They're all Kirby Signature Series PureAir parts, so the Kirby part number is the easiest way to get the right one when you reorder.

Kirby includes a new pre-motor filter with its replacement bags. Rinse the pre-motor foam filter once a month and let it air dry for 24 hours before you put it back. The HEPA system filter isn't washable. Kirby says to replace it once a year, or when the Service Filter light comes on.

Bags for older Kirby models, including the Sentria, the Generation series and the Avalir, are on our Kirby vacuum bags page. For belts, brush rolls and other replacement parts, see Kirby vacuum parts.

Warranty: handled by Kirby

All warranty claims for the Signature Series are handled directly by the manufacturer, The Kirby Company. EZvacuum does not handle warranty repairs or replacements, so please contact Kirby for anything the warranty covers.

Under Kirby's Signature Series limited warranty, a Kirby Authorized Service Center will repair or replace a defective motor at no cost, labor included, for 8 years from the date of purchase. Other defective parts get the same treatment for 5 years, except expendable components, which Kirby lists as HEPA filters, disposable bags, attachments and brush rolls.

The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship under ordinary household use in the USA. It doesn't cover commercial use, and it doesn't transfer to a later owner. Kirby's full terms, exclusions and limitations are at kirby.com/pages/signature-warranty (opens in a new tab).

Register your vacuum at kirby.com/pages/register-signature-series (opens in a new tab) and keep your EZvacuum order confirmation. Kirby asks for proof of purchase or a completed registration before it processes a claim, and all warranty work is done by a Kirby Authorized Service Center. You can reach Kirby at 216-529-6177 or consumer@kirby.com, or chat with a product specialist at kirby.com.

14-day return policy

You can return a Signature Series vacuum within 14 days of delivery. Vacuum cleaners fall under the equipment terms of our Refund Policy, so the longer return window for bags, belts and filters doesn't apply to them. Return shipping is your responsibility. A restocking fee applies to vacuum returns, and shipping charges may be deducted, as set out in our Refund Policy. Each vacuum's product page lists the return steps.

If your vacuum arrives damaged or isn't the model you ordered, email us right away at support@ezvacuum.com so we can sort it out.
